Dr. Paul Probeck, a recovering alcoholic himself, decides to start an alcohol rehabilitation program at Blair, with Kildare as one of his assistants. However, one of the men they are treating is highly uncooperative and doesn't even give his name. After talking to him Probeck starts to wonder if he may be the son he has never met.

Kildare is assigned to intern under Dr. Nicholas Keefe, a brilliant, highly driven, and extremely thorough resident who is admired for his skill, but not for his belligerent and inflexible intolerance of any imperfections from interns and staff. It is due to this difficulty that Gillespie turns down Keefe's application for the position of chief resident.

A research doctor is worried that he is going to be scooped on a cure for sickle cell anemia. He enlists the aid of two interns. The doctor in his haste to be first fudges the results.

Route 66 is an American adventure crime drama television series that premiered on CBS on October 7, 1960, and ran until March 20, 1964, for a total of 116 episodes. The series was created by Herbert B. Leonard and Stirling Silliphant, who were also responsible for the ABC drama Naked City, from which Route 66 was an indirect spin-off. Both series employed a format with elements of both traditional drama and anthology drama, but the difference was where the shows were set: Naked City was set in New York City, while Route 66 had its setting change from week to week, with each episode being shot on location.

Route 66 followed two young men traversing the United States in a Chevrolet Corvette convertible, and the events and consequences surrounding their journeys. Martin Milner starred as Tod Stiles, a recent college graduate with no future prospects due to circumstances beyond his control. He was originally joined on his travels by Buz Murdock (played by George Maharis), a friend and former employee of his father's, with the character leaving midway through the third season after contracting echovirus. Near the end of the third season, Tod met a recently discharged Vietnam veteran named Lincoln Case, played by Glenn Corbett, who decided to follow Tod on his travels and stayed with him until the final episode.

S01E01 Black November (Oct.07.1960)
Stars Martin Milner George Maharis Everett Sloane Patty McCormack Keir Dullea Whit Bissell Malcolm Atterbury Guy Raymond George Kennedy Robert Sorrells House Jameson om Vetter Sr.

Leaving New York City behind, Tod and Buz begin their search "to catch a star" and find themselves in a nightmare right out of "Bad Day at Black Rock." The unfriendly, suspicious, and violent residents of a tiny Mississippi town have a long-held secret--and they will kill to protect it.

Tod and Buz reach the destination they started for in Episode One, Louisiana, and jobs working as crewmen on a shrimp trawler. However, crewing for a beautiful female captain, the resentment of local fishermen and a deadly storm at sea were results that were totally unexpected by them.

Tod and Buz layover to work in New Orleans and make the acquaintance of a young woman who accidentally interferes with a smuggling ring. The young woman's melancholy mother and the danger of an epidemic add to the difficulties.

Tod and Buz take labor jobs on a Louisiana offshore oil rig. Tod immediately finds the behavior of a seemingly out-of-place older worker to be odd. As Tod continues to watch the man he finds the strange behavior has a sane purpose-the man is a Nazi hunter who is closing in on his prey.

Tod and Buz, driving through California "West by North" in a rainstorm nearly run over a young woman. After giving her a lift to the next town they find she is on the run from a murder charge. Despite the protests of the Sheriff, the townspeople and the woman herself, Buz feels there is more to the story than obvious guilt.

Thanks for the lnk, Neal! Although I must say, I'm a little alarmed at the production's treatment of that poor dog in the opening credits - tossing him down ski slopes, off boats, and even out of an airplane! Can't have been all fun and games for that beautiful pooch...

You're welcome Jeff. Interestingly only recently did I realize that what is referred to as TV Series Collection 1 (Season 1) consisting of 33 episodes released in 2005 by VCI Video are the only episodes ever made available on Home Video and only twelve of those were previously uploaded on YouTube. Tonight I finally purchased the entire Season 1 DVD.

There was however, a Season 2 consisting of 28 additional episodes and as far as I know, this one, S02E07 Anniversary Guest (Dec.15.1964) is only one from this season ever made available anywhere!

As far as the alleged mistreatment of London, I’m afraid only John can address that.

OK, so here's a show that just came to mind. In a sense, it probably doesn't belong here since the title of the thread is "Obscure Classic TV Shows - Post Your Favorites!" is this can't be a favorite as I've never seen it, but really want to.

I was reminded of it when popping into a thread about the recent 4K release of the movie The Howling. My comment about that was that my primary interest in seeing the film again is that it was one of a bunch of movies written (but not directed) by John Sayles.

Lightbulb!

Sayles is a favorite writer/director whose excellent directorial efforts have largely been ignored when it comes to Blu-ray, while the low-budget genre films he writes to pay the bills seem to get released.

Anyway, Sayles created a TV series back in 1989 called Shannon's Deal, about a disgraced lawyer who ends up building up a small practice to do the good fight. There was a (fairly successful) 2-hour pilot on NBC, followed a year later by 6-episode first season, and a year after that, an 8-episode second season. But its ratings tanked, and the show wasn't renewed for a third season. Sayles wrote the pilot film, and two S1 episodes.

Unfortunately, it was never released on home video, and doesn't currently seem to be streaming anywhere. It was produced through Universal, so maybe it'll eventually show up on Peacock.
