Hello all. Just got a "new" Yamaha S1200 DVD-A/Video player and am hooking it up to my Yamaha DSP-A1 integrated amp. I believe I've hooked everything up correctly to the amps 5.1 channel discreet analog inputs. When I try to play a dvd-a (or regular dvd-video movie) the volume control on the amp gets completely overridden and the disc blasts loudly at one fixed level. At one point I even tried cutting off at the input select on the amp and NOTHING happened. Weird. I set Digital Output to "OFF" as instructed in the manual. What am I doing wrong?

I know with my Denon 3300 I have to select the 6 CH EXT.IN button to hear the proper DVDA mix from my RP91.

I don't know how Yamaha's are set up but it should be simply 6 cables from the output of the DVDA player to the 5.1 inputs of the Receiver. Then select the EXT.IN button or setting.
