I’ve often wondered how the members online stat is determined. I often visit HTF and go somewhere else while leaving the HTF tab open. Or I close up my ipad and am not active, but the HTF tab is left open.

Would I still be considered online in these situations?

I always figure, Johnny, that as long as you have a tab open with the HTF (even if you open a new tab to go elsewhere) you'll remain on the "Members Online" widget.

But I would figure that if you keep the HTF tab open but close down your iPad that you would leave the widget.

But that's just my guess.

I believe it looks at whether it has seen any requests from your browser in the last 30 minutes, If so you are online.
