This post has the wholehearted support of HTF owners, past and present as well as the permission of its subject, long-time member Robert ‘Bob’ Grippo (@RobertMG ).
Several here are already aware of the difficulties which Bob has been facing. Multiple surgeries in recent years have left him significantly incapacitated and in the care of his elderly mother, and in constant, profound pain from open facial wounds, scarring and swelling.
His road to recovery continues to be arduous and painful. It is not possible for him to work, and he is troubled by the fact that he is totally reliant on his mother, Cathy, who is at an age where he had hoped to be caring for her instead.
Bob’s active participation on HTF and the friendships formed here continue to be one of his sustaining comforts.
Bob related that soon after one of his surgeries, a real estate agent’s lawyer steered him to sign an online contract, which turned out to be an authorisation to sell their home to a property developer. This was when he was at his most vulnerable and he wasn’t clear what he was signing.
The house belongs to Cathy, not Bob, so he ought not have had any authority to sell it. Nevertheless, lawyers for the developer are attempting to enforce the contract. Cathy only learned about this several months later.
Bob and Cathy have little financial means with which to mount an effective legal challenge to this, but if it were left unchallenged, they’d lose their home. So, the matter is listed for a court hearing on 23rd June.
They have set up an online drive to raise legal funds and have so far raised $700 towards a goal of $10,000. To realistically approach this target would require wider awareness and participation. To this end, HTF owners have given not only their permission, but their enthusiastic support ‘to host a gofundme for one of our most active and dedicated members’.
As you can imagine, it is very difficult for Bob to request your assistance in this way. However, if you feel you can lend your support, it will mean the world to Bob and Cathy.

Aside from funding, your well-wishes, positive thoughts, prayers and good vibes will go a long way to help Bob and Cathy feel valued and supported as they seek the opportunity to adequately present their side of the case in court.
Thank you!
