I was happy to hear Chris Evans say that.

He has said similar things in the past, but nothing as definitive as this.

I don't think it's likely he'll be signing any more 6 picture deals, but it seems like he'll be open to signing on for one or two at a time like Downey has.

Agreed. I wonder if these changes mean they are more flexible with the number of films on initial deals and if that might have any impact on who they can get for future parts.

I hope you are right about one shots, I used to really look forward to those.

Chris Evans is class act.

I like what he had to say here regarding Spielberg's recent comment about the genre.

Rumor going around that in striking a deal with Marvel for the new X-Men shows on Fox and FX (Hellfire and Legion, respectively), Marvel will get the rights to the Fantastic Four (which includes Doctor Doom, Galactus and the Silver Surfer). Allegedly one of the 2020 slots Marvel has penciled in is for a new FF movie.

Although I do remember similar denials from Sony before Marvel re-acquired Spider-Man.

Not saying the denial from the studios isn't accurate, but I don't believe a studio denial is guaranteed to be the truth either. Just look back to when Sony was denying the rumors of them reaching a deal with Marvel on Spider-Man. The deal had been in the works for a while, but neither studio was going to confirm the rumor until they wanted to announce it on their own terms.

So this may have been BS, but I wouldn't be surprised if there might ultimately be something to it. It is 100% true that Marvel gave Fox the OK to develop these two X-Men TV shows. Seeing as how Marvel has indicated that they want thier properties back (and have tried to negotiate for the use of Galactus and Silver Surfer), I'd think they must have got something in return for allowing Fox to make X-Men shows.

On other interesting Marvel news, the two Avengers that won't be in Captain America: Civil War will be teaming up in Thor: Ragnorak.

The Inhumans movie has been pushed back from its July 12, 2019, release date (which is only a week before Disney releases the fifth Indiana Jones movie). Kevin Feige said that adding Spider-Man to the mix of films and scheduling the second Ant-Man film contributed to the delay. It remains to be seen how far ahead Inhumans will be pushed.

Feige says the Inhumans movie will happen, it’s just a question of how far back it will be delayed.

“Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we addedSpider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now,” Feige said in an interview with Collider’s Haleigh Foutch. “How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet.”

I wonder how this will affect plans for the storyline on Agents of SHIELD.

I don't think it would have any impact on Agents of SHIELD. Even if they kept the original date, that was three years away.

And I think that what they do with The Inhumans movie will be pretty separate from whatever is going on in AoS. I don't think they show's story will be directly connected to he film.

It wouldn't be surprising if Agents of SHIELD finished its run before this movie comes out.

Jaimie Alexander seems unsure if she will be in Thor: Ragnarok:

Am I in Thor 3? I get asked that every time I do this! I actually don't know. I have no idea. I'm guessing no? But I'm not sure, because nobody's told me. I have no clue.

I can't imagine they won't use her. She was great in the earlier films and on SHIELD. And now, with the popularity of her show Blindspot, it seems a no-brainer to utilize her for a third movie.

Filming for Thor is set for June.

Lady Sif and the Warriors Three have become the Uhura, Sulu, Chekov and Scotty of the Thor cinematic universe. Woefully underused, no character development to speak of, and generally only showing up because they are on the cast sheet.

The Inhumans delay, to me, says that this rumor might end up being true.

Variety is reporting that Brie Larson is Marvel's first choice to play Captain Marvel

I think it's a really intriguing, unexpected choice that significantly increases my interest in this movie. It would be win-win; Marvel gets an Oscar winner to play its first standalone big screen superheroine. Larson gets a franchise that will help her stave off the curse that often seems to snare actresses who've won Oscars.

And while I think a lot of people were expecting an actress with a more physical background for the role, Larson is blonde(ish) like Carol Danvers and, at 5-foot-7, is taller than both Scarlett Johansson and Elizabeth Olsen.

Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel was created in the '70s. She was associated with Captain Marvel (not to be confused with the Fawcett/DC hero who became Captain Marvel by saying,"Shazam!"), who died in the early '80s in Marvel's very first graphic novel, The Death of Captain Marvel. Danvers continued as Ms. Marvel (except when she was Binary)--and there was another male Captain Marvel or two in the meantime--until Marvel created a new Ms. Marvel and promoted Danvers to Captain Marvel. That has happened in the last three or so years.

Alan Silvestri is returning to score Infinity War Parts One and Two.

That is fantastic news. I've missed his music in most of the post-Avengers titles. His Cap theme is wonderful, as is his Avengers theme. Really missed his work during Age Of Ultron.

What do you folks make of the reports over the last few days that Fox could be eyeing a deal with Marvel to have crossover films? Maybe a proper Fantastic Four movie could eventually happen? An X-Men/Avengers movie might be something that makes Hugh Jackman play Wolverine again. It would be nice just to hear the word "mutant" uttered in the MCU.

Fox has been successful with the X-Men films, but not the kind of success Marvel has seen. The X-Men films seem to end up at about $500M-$750M, while the Marvel movies often cross the $1B mark.

I for one don't see it happening. So much has happened in the X-Men continuity, and so much has happened in the MCU continuity, that wouldn't really match - but once they're in the same world, it somehow has to. I think the Fox movies are well beyond the point where they could be integrated smoothly. Kevin Feige likes neatness and order. There's a leaked memo from the Sony hack concerning Amazing Spider-Man 2, where Fiege basically says, "if you put this movie out as is, there are too many things that happen that don't fit in our universe, so we can never ever do a crossover with this version of the character" - if that's how he was two moves into a new Spider-man series, one can imagine that he'd feel even more strongly with the X-Men movies. that have been around longer than the MCU. When you read the article, all of the speculation is based on something said by one fan on one podcast based on conversations with "sources" he won't name - I don't buy it.
