I'm curious if the French language version is better than the partly English dubbed version?
Better in what way? The DVD also had both the French and English versions. The theatrical version in U.K. and US, which I saw when first released, used the English language version which wasn’t entirely satisfactory due to the dubbing of the French and German actors.

I've read somewhere some comments (don't remember where), that this is a better film than the Longest Yard and North Dallas forty.
Haven't seen it myself.

In my opinion, all three are top 10 football movies ever made, The Longest Yard being the best ever... NDF most likely number 2.

For those who have ESPN+, you should watch the Peyton's Places episode where Peyton Manning interviews Kurt Russell, Season 2, Episode 9. It's great, I wish we could include as an extra, but that's not possible.

If you like NFL, that show is a must-see and the Eli's Places is also really good, but his show is mostly about college football.

Coming to DVD and Blu-ray August 8th from Kino Lorber!

Scarlet
Directed by Pietro Marcello
Starring Juliette Jouan, Raphaël Thiéry, Noémie Lvovsky, Louis Garrel

Pre-order: https://www.kinolorber.com/product/scarlet-1

Pietro Marcello, one of contemporary cinema’s most versatile talents, follows up his dramatic breakthrough Martin Eden (2019) with this enchanting period fable. Shortly after World War I, veteran Raphaël (Raphaël Thiery) returns home from the frontlines to find himself a widower, and father to an infant daughter. Raised by her father in rural Normandy, the child Juliette (Juliette Jouan) grows into a lonely young woman who dreams of greater possibilities. She seeks refuge in the nearby woods, where she meets a witch who promises scarlet sails will one day take her away from her village. Reckoning with her future and swept away by a rakish young pilot (Louis Garrel) who literally falls from the sky, Juliette never stops believing in the witch’s prophecy. Tracing Juliette’s journey throughout the 20 years of great invention between the world wars, Scarlet delicately weaves together music and fantasy, history and folklore, realist drama and ethereal romance, to craft a timeless story of a young woman’s emancipation.

Special Features
*Making-of Documentary (17 minutes)
*Q&A with director Pietro Marcello (18 minutes, courtesy of Film at Lincoln Center and New York Film Festival)
*Theatrical Trailer

Hmmm Am I the only one who thinks the original comic book this was based on is a rip off of an old time tunnel episode?

Screen legend George C. Scott (Patton, The Day of the Dolphin) gives a strong, sensitive portrayal of a deeply religious Midwestern businessman whose daughter, while on a church-sponsored outing, runs away from home. He hires an oddball detective (Peter Boyle, The Brink’s Job), who learns that the daughter has been making cheap sex films. When the father realizes that he can no longer trust the detective, he decides to hunt for his daughter himself. Posing as a porno film producer casting a new movie, he gathers clues with ferocious determination. Finally, with the help of a prostitute (Season Hubley, Vice Squad), he locates his daughter. But is it too late? Paul Schrader, writer (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull) and director (Blue Collar, American Gigolo), presents a powerful, unflinching glimpse into the dark, bizarre world of the pornography industry. Featuring cinematography by Michael Chapman (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and music by Jack Nitzsche (The Exorcist).

In this searing story of infidelity, Rod Steiger (In the Heat of the Night) and Claire Bloom (Charly) star as middle-aged couple Steve and Frances Howard of Middlesex, England. While away on business, Steve begins an affair with a 19-year-old hitchhiker (Judy Geeson, Brannigan). He thinks he’s in control of his philanderous situation—until the free-spirited teenager insists upon moving in with him and his wife. Dame Peggy Ashcroft (Secret Ceremony) also stars as Frances’ mother, whose neurotic interference only makes things messier. Directed by film and theater great Peter Hall (Perfect Friday, The Homecoming), this cult ’60s gem features brilliant performances and a powerful script by Edna O’Brien (Girl with Green Eyes) from Andrea Newman’s novel. This special edition also includes the television cut of the film in SD.
