JBL E or L series ?? $$ ?? $$ (1 Viewer)

I was wondering if anyone has an opinion related to the E-80 vs the L880 series JBL speakers. They both contain the same number of speakers, well the L880 does have an additional High Frequency tweeter. But the speakers L880 are almost twice the cost of the E-80. These will be driven with a YAMAHA RX-V2600 130 watts per channel amplifier.

There is a little more to it than the drivers.
The speakers are stronger and better braced, less resonance.
The Super Tweet helps most rooms natural roll offs in the highest frequencies.


The E series stuff still represents some of the best value -vs- performance out there and should be strong contenders for the more budget minded.

The new Studio L series is VERY new and not a lot of info/reviews.

I will guess it will be AWESOME and smoke the Northridge E series.

Also, look at the pricing of the Northridge E series, I think it is at the end of its life, prices are falling and such. Also, I think they are only being made in black right now.
