Image on Projector from HDMI 4 times as large as it should be (1 Viewer)

I have had this problem more than once when the on screen image from the hdmi port for Blu-ray is way oversize. Luckily the players were under warranty and I returned them. Has anyone else experienced this? If so do you know what causes it? Do you know solutions? I just got the BFI Blu-ray of Abel Gance's 1927 Napoleon. Got a new all regions Blu-ray player (Sony) and found it worthless.

Check the output settings on the player and your display - this sounds like a zoom function has been accidentally activated.

No, that wasn't it. Had to return two Blu-rays players. Seems only to happen with projectors.
