    Hi there,

Just wondering what the differences or similarities are between these two yamaha models. Future Shop carries the HTR's and A&B Sound the RXV's. The models I'm comparing in particular are the RXV-530 vs HTR-5550 and the RXV-730 vs HTR-5560.

    Thanks
    Cyrus

you can figure they're the same, just sold in different retail environments.

The 730 has on-screen display(a must-have for yamahas), phono input, and much nicer remote...there is no htr equivalent.....the other 2 are the same....except Yamaha has better qc on the rxv line

Matt: I'm curious, why do you say the RX-V line has better QC?

"At the local stereo shop, the salesman (who was also the manager) told me the difference was the HTR's are mass produced and 1 out of every 12 of the RX-V's are opened and hand checked. This is to cut down on defective units and assure quality. Other than that, he said they are the same reciever."

Matt: Nevermind, just read this on another thread!
