Does it cost a lot more to retrofit a room? What are the differences in cost for a new room vs a retrofitted room. Im just asking cause last night someone was watching gladiator at reference levels in my hometheater and the bass in particular could be heard if not felt through the whole house.

Aaron, the bass in particular will be essentially impossible to contain. I've seen good prices on acoustic materials at partsexpress.com but nothing's gonna keep the bass in.
