Shout! Factory has announced a box set of the complete series. The first two seasons were originally released by Sony, and then the final three by SF after a lengthy interim.

It's a real missed opportunity to not include the eight TV reunion movies that followed the series' cancellation. Those eight movies were previously released as very expensive MOD discs, first individually and later in two four-movie configurations. I'd double-dip in a flash if this were a Complete Collection release, as I've refused to buy those over-priced MOD reunion movies. It would have been great to finally get those movies as pressed discs as part of this box set.

The new set retails for whopping $160, but the five individual seasons (already available for years) can easily be obtained for $10-$20 each, so who exactly is the target consumer for it? At that price, without the reunion movies or any other exclusive bonus materials, I can't imagine anyone looking forward to it.

I was thinking of buying it until I saw the price you mentioned. I already have S1 and S2, but if it were cheap enough, I'd spring. Nope!

At this price, it would have to include the post-series telefilms. Otherwise, no sale.

(The official listing on shout's web site doesn't seem to indicate this).

Are you going to wait for it to get down to a lower price, and then purchase if it does?

A toss up at this point.

I don't have seasons 4 and 5 yet. (At this point, they're not really a high priority for me).

Most likely I'll eventually pick up the individual seasons 4 and 5 sets, unless the complete series set tumbles down in price significantly that it is less expensive.

Like Ron, I own S1 & S2. With only 3 seasons needed for completion, there's no way I'll pay such a inflated price, even if the post-series telefilms were included. I'll just wait until the 3 seasons I need go on sale and get 'em then.

That price will come down, I'm sure, but it's still very steep. A $90 or $100 pricepoint would have been more appropriate.

Hart to Hart was such a phenomenal, fun and unique television series.

Robert Wagner was perfect in the role of the self-made millionaire Jonathan Hart.
Stefanie Powers was perfect in the role of the freelance journalist Jennifer Hart.
Lionel Stander was perfect in the role of the Harts' loyal butler, cook and chauffeur Max.

I won't ever be buying this soon-to-be released Hart to Hart - The Complete Series 29-disc box set.
I already own the individual releases of all five seasons of Hart to Hart on DVD.

It's such an outrage that the eight Hart to Hart reunion TV Movies from 1993-1996 continue to be available on just DVD-R.
I despise DVD-R's immensely and that's the reason why I still don't own a copy of any of those eight movies.
I still haven't yet seen any of those eight movies.
I don't think that those eight movies will ever get released on factory pressed discs.

I suppose that all 111 of the Hart to Hart episodes from 1979-1984 are presented in uncut form on DVD.

For those wondering what the exact running times are for all 111 of the episodes of Hart to Hart on DVD, here they are.

I like the show enough that I bought the first set of movies (and of course all of the season sets). The movies are ok. What I discovered while watching them is that an hour and half is too long for the content. It's padded. I do love the show though. The last season being the weakest. I think that the stand out (for me) from the last season is "Larsen's Last jump."

May 30, 2017 has finally arrived.
Shout! Factory's 29-disc DVD box set release of Hart to Hart: The Complete Series is now ready to ship from Amazon.

I can't imagine there being many people that already own the individual DVD releases of a few or all of the Hart to Hart seasons ever being interested in buying a copy of this 29-disc DVD box set.

I'm saying this because this 29-disc DVD box set doesn't include the eight Hart to Hart reunion television movies from 1993-1996.

As far as I'm concerned, this 29-disc DVD box set is completely useless and a total disappointment.
It's such a shame that Shout! Factory wasn't able to obtain the DVD rights to those eight reunion movies.

This DVD box set would have been a perfect DVD release if it had included those eight reunion television movies.

I don't think it's fair to call it useless. If I hadn't purchased all of the sets, I would definitely get this, even without the later movies.
It's not unusual for later movies like that to be excluded. It would be awesome if they were included of course.

I would be more concerned about 'compression' issues. Third party distributors have a nasty tendency to squeeze more episodes per disc to keep the disc content down, the result: less than stellar image quality. Personally, I just wish we could start getting more vintage TV in 1080p rather than these recycled DVD box sets. Boring!

That is certainly the case with Mill Creek (DVDs), but I haven't seen that issue with Shout.
