The American Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens is having a Scorsese Event on Saturday ... this upcoming weekend!
The Film Retrospective Runs from Nov.9 - Dec.29 (I guess in anticipation for the release of GANGS OF NEW YORK)
Many of the classics will be screened and on this Saturday, Nov.9 at 5PM, Scorsese himself will have a live discussion with famed NY Times Film Critic Janet Maslin.
I have seen 2 previous live Scorsese discussions and I must say they are rather insightful and fun. The man is an encyclopedia of knowledge ... This is a must see if you are a fan of his work.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised. This sounds like an amazing series and discussion that wouldn't come within a thousand miles of my neck of the woods.
