Hi All,

I currently run an Energy Setup with
Fronts E:XL26
Center E:XLC-2
Rears E:XL15
With SVS 25-31PCi;)

Marantz SR7300

I am looking to upgrade my front 3 speakers to AXIOM M60's and VP150.

My question is should I move the current Energy front speakers to be the surrounds? I am concerned about how surrounds are reccommended to be placed "above" the listeners head and my floorstanders would be at ear level.

Any advice appreciated

Alot of folks like those floor standers in the back for music as they seem to do better. My last system had towers on all fours and I am getting rid of them going back to dipoles on the sides/rears of a 5.1 system as I miss the ambiance of the surround effect these provide for music. Wont hurt to try it but make sure you get it up high enough to do some good. I got mine up just above ear level but it still was not good enough. They need to be a couple feet above your ears. Again this is an area where you will get lots of conflicting info. It all boils down to you liking direct radiating or dipole speakers in the rear. Good luck.
