Well, I finally took the plunge about 5 minutes ago. Soon I will no longer have to be envious of others on this board:).
What I find amazing is, that around where I live, nobody has even heard the name "SVS". Sure, everyone is a HT buff or a true audiophile right up until you ask them pointed questions and then they fold like a house of cards! I have made it my personal mission to educate all of them in the ways of the SVS". Tom and Ron, I will send as many your way as is humanly possible, Dead or Alive!
Hmmm, I guess you will want them alive so they can actually place an order - duly noted.
This week has been good for my HT room. Exchanged Yamaha 2200 for a 3200, finally received my M&K's (2-750LCR, 2-750centers, 2-s55 tripoles), and now I have ordered Dual 20-39CS+ w/sampson1000 amp. Next week I order my Panny 711xu projector.
And if you can't tell, I am a wee bit excited.
Thanks for reading my ramblings and Thank you Tom and Ron!

Congrats, Michael. Good to see that you'll be shakin' up the south end with those twins. Rock on.

Considering how new SVS is and their approach to marketing, I'm not too surprised. Lots of people do their research by dropping by high-end stores rather than online.

I've reached the point where I try not to judge other folk's HT priorities; everyone will have different needs. Some people would think I'm nuts for spending more on my subwoofers than on my TV, but I care about sound more than video.

I think there's a fair community of SVS folks out here (including me, now; dual 20-39CS+s.) Unfortunately, Seattle's distance from Ohio makes shipping kind of spendy and slow. Still totally worth it, of course.

Nice to hear there are more of us up here in the great Northwet;) . I do not feel all alone now.
I will work on converting more to SVS subs.
On a related note, yesterday my wife ordered 5 Berkline Cinema Series seats, shipping on those was less than the SVS, oh well.
Enjoy

I too am the only one in my area who has heard of SVS, much less have one. Then when I demo my system, they definitely go away with the SVS stamp in their chest !!! LOL

I also recently bought a SVS subwoofer (CS-Ultra with Samson AMP) on 3/7. Do I need to buy any cables to hook this up to my receiver (Denon 5800)? There was some mention that a Better Cable subwoofer interconnect was included with all SVS purchases. If so, would this cable be long enough to try different subwoofer placements? Do most people use the supplied cable?

I have another question regarding the size of the shipping carton. If I need to pick up the subwoofer from UPS, is the package light enough for one person to carry and small enough to fit in my Accura Integra?

Any response would be greatly appreciated.

As far as the subwoofer interconnect, I believe that would just go from your sub out on your receiver to the amplifier. You will have to provide your own speaker wire (12 gauge, hopefully) to go from the amp to the sub. So it's the amount of speaker wire you use that will allow you to play with placement (this is correct, isn't it?).
As far as the size, maybe someone could give you the dimensions of the box so you can check it out. I'm thinking you may have a problem with an Integra. Does it have a back seat, or is it a two-seater? As far as weight, it's probably more a problem of awkwardness than heaviness (like TVs), but I'd think you can walk (you know, like a dresser, just shimmy it from corner to corner) it where you need to and then load it in your car (if it fits :D).

Congrats on the order. I just bought a slightly used 20-39CS and Samsun S700 amp from a guy here in Austin last night. First time I had heard a SVS sub. I was blown away. Put in that night the depth charge scene from U571 and selected parts of Star Wars Ep 1. But what really got me was when I played my Crystal Method CD. Wow. I was shaking the floor upstairs! And I only have 1 sub. Have a good time.

I finally took the plunge and ordered dual 25-31CS's this past Friday. Hopefully when I come home this coming weekend for Spring Break, it will be to a couple large packages sitting in my house :)
I can't wait!
