Since the Denon 4802's component video switching is 50mhz, it, in theory, performs supurb with 480i/480p (as I've heard).

The question is.. what about 1080i? Does it downgrade the piture, are there artifiacts... or is it a perfect signal transfer? I know there is on the 5803 with the 100mhz switching it has... so what have other 4802 users found with running a HiDef 1080i signal through the 4802's component in/out.

I think there was a thread asking this same question somewhere, so if someone can direct me to it... that'd be fine. Thanks.

45mhz is enough to pass full 720p (which requires more bandwidth than 1080i). The problem when you get to this point is not usually the bandwidth, but the quality of the components.
