Denon 1600 or Panny DVD player (1 Viewer)

Which would go better with an NEC LT240 projector and an Outlaw 950 pre/pro, a Denon 1600 or a Panny DVD player like the XP30 or the XP50? Does the Denon sound better than the Pannys? Is there a better model in the Panny line?

i have owned the denon 1600 and panny rp56

i dont think sound is a real issue...

videowise, they were very similar, but the denon did better on one or two dvds, can't remember which.

having said that, the build quality on the denon is much better, my panny died, horribly.

I think XP30 and XP50 are getting hard to find.
