there are times when I wish that when I was in college, I had had this board to turn to and get sagely advice from older heads wiser than mine. might have saved me a fair bit of aggro; in particular I must have wasted nearly three years chasing after a girl who in retrospect wasn't that interested in me, and again in hindsight wasn't that fabulous a catch anyway (and this is not sour grapes, just an older head's recognition that she was incompatible). and while wasting time on this girl I must have let slip lots of better prospects.

at least all's well that ends well, now happily married and all that. but it would've been nice to have dated some nicer girls during those wasted years.
