another great ep. loved how the nail saved larry's ass in the end. plus the whole bra thing and the salesperson insinuating larry wore female undies.

btw, is it me or does jeff's wife look "different" ... like she got some surgery done? i dunno ... she just doesn't look like she did last year???

I've noticed that also. She looks like she's aged considerably since last season. Hope she's ok.

Episode was funny in parts although I admit to be uncomfortable when they start using religion to get laughs.

Larry and the undergarment was hilarious though.

Really? I thought she looked a lot younger. I noticed a change in her appearance, but I thought it was plastic surgery.

Also, does she ever wear her hair back? She usually has it all out and frizzy which makes her look very 80's....having it pulled back, makes her look much better.

I'll put out a DVD from a prior season and look. Whatever it is, she definitely looks different.

However.....

she can still dish it out like she always did. :) I read in one of the newspapers that people stop her on the street and ask her to yell at them.

Episode 44: Kamikaze Bingo Larry dishonors an art dealer at a Japanese restaurant, and accuses a nursing-home resident of a Bingo fix

Pretty good episode, not the best, but good.

I thought Larry David would make some comment about the connection between the failed suicide atempt and the fathers 'failed' kamikaze attempt.

just a so-so episode by cye standards. i could see the father's kamikaze run (at the end) coming, but it was still pretty good.

the friends still playiing poker was comedy. also, nice to see a fellow-asian representin' on cye! ;)

I think it's totally weak that there will be no "Curb" or "Extras" next week because HBO is playing a "Rome" marathon.

Oh, I totally forgot about the Teriyaki Chicken part. I thought it was funny because whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant (with my sushi loving friends) - I always end up getting Teriyaki Chicken because that's the only thing I like. :D

Larry is trying too hard. The shows are sillier/over-the-top and more forced than they've ever been. I hope he pulls back soon.

This was my favorite episode of this season which isn't saying much since the others have been very mediocre. Some classic Larry moments at the nursing home however I do agree that this season is not up to par with the others.

Some of the scenes do look forced which is part of the problem. Another problem is that they're trying to extract humor from near tragic events that aren't inherently funny (Nat's stroke, Larry's near drowning, suicide attempt). Where the show excelled in the past is taking normal everyday events and showing Larry's absurd reactions to them.

That stuff happens on the networks but I don't think HBO really cares about that stuff. Just this year they aired a brand-new episode of "Six Feet Under" on the fourth of July.

I like it when they are this way. Reminds me of the best "Seinfeld" episodes. So far, this season is overall better than Season 4, IMO.

The porno-watching was indeed bizarre. :D

By far the funniest part was when Larry was explaining to Kevin Neelan about the "living" Kamikazes and said it seems to me "I should be going home becuase this is fucking nutz" while making a dive bomb with his hands.
