I am going to build a sound room off my living room. It will be 17 or 18 feet by 10 feet. What are the pros and cons of windows? I have a 4 ft. by 5 ft. window that will be taken out to build it and was going to put it in there??
I have a 57 inch Toshiba high definition T.V. but want to put in a projector with a screen. Would that be a big improvement? (Worth it?)My surround speakers are presently behind me, should I place them to the side instead, and have my one rear speaker at the back?

If you want front projection (And I would recommend it) then a window is a bad idea. Front projection relies on having the room as dark as possible to get the best possible contrast.

If you have, are or going to get a 6.1 reciever, then yes, you should have two surrounds to the side (more or less) and a single rear speaker. I put in two rear speakers and wired them seperatly, so that when 7.1 comes home, I can just change out my reciever and remove a wire nut.
