Component or DVI (1 Viewer)

I need to get another card for my plasma. HD is running through s-video and it's not happening.

a DVI card and a second component will cost be about the same so which will give me a better signal?

DVI uses digital signals so it should give a better picture compared to component which uses analogue signals.

You could try swapping your DVD player and HD tuner connections. Try setting the DVD player to interlaced and connect it to the plasma using s-video and then connect the HD tuner using the component input. With a high quality s-video cable, you may not notice that much PQ degradation on DVDs.
