comparison between hsu vtf-3 &svs 20-39 pci (1 Viewer)

I have a 24 by 16 feet room that i am trying to decide
between a hsu vtf-3 mk2 and svs 20-39 pci subwoofer.
My subwoofer usuage will be hd tv-50%, movies-30%,
and music-20%. Which subwoofer would be best under these
conditions?

Couple questions:

1) Do you watch movies at loud levels?
2) Can you stretch your budget another $100?

If the answers to both of these questions are yes, you should opt for the Hsu VTF-3HO @ $840 delivered. The hsu vtf-3mk2 is $699 + delivery. During the pre-order period, the vtf-3HO is $799 + $40 delivery.

The '3HO is a clear step above either of your original 2 choices for only $100 more.

A minor correction...the 20-39PCi is $599 plus shipping which is around $30-40 I believe. So once you get into the $850 range...you are in a completely different price bracket. Which is exactly why SVS has the PC+ and PB12-plus subwoofers (which range from $775 to $899).

Tom is correct in that the 20-39PCi is in the $640 range, the Hsu VTF-3mk2 is in the $740 range and the Hsu VTF-3HO is in the $840 range.

I would be interested in any comments Tom might have on the Adire XBL2 technology used in the '3HOs new 12 inch driver.
