As a retired AI specialist and a security officer the LG AI presentation scares me.

Privacy and security are my main concerns. Unfortunately technological advances are usually way ahead of resolving security problems in the software.

Also in the demo the sharing of personal information with the AI will also lead to many companies using your personal information either directly or indirectly.

Having AI making payments and ordering merchandise has many potential problems.

When I read about all the security hacks being done on major corporations, municipalities and the constant security problems Microsoft has in its software it make me want to stay away from devices that could compromise my privacy.

Any projectors at CES? I don’t especially care about uber direct displays. But projectors are Fall season electronics?

C’mon Dave, I thought everyone knew, spring ahead to front panel displays, fall back to backlit, rear lit and projection.

That 48" OLED is the right size, but certainly much higher quality (and price) for what I want to upgrade my bedroom TV. It needs to fit in a hutch that 43.3" (w) x 27.0" (h); or 51" diagonal max. I currently have a 2010 40" Toshiba medium grade TV that cost $800 back then. I don't need 4K OLED or anything fancy for the bedroom, but I'd like to bump up closer to 50" from the current 40" and since 4K is now free in a cereal box, might as well get that too. No hurry, but I continue to consider options for a 4K upgrade.

Sony should just back out of the LCD display market for a couple years and rethink how they are doing it so wrong.

Give me a break.

is panasonic seriously never coming back to USA?

their OLED's still the best implementation based on hdtvtest reviews ;).

i love their thicker heatsink/metal on their pro-line so that it can dissipate the heat generated by OLED panels so the brightness is more uniform and the average peak can be raised higher than LG's or any thinner panels can.

but even if it were available in USA, the cost is way too high at $5 to 10+ for the displays :(.

hoping some of these other mfr finds a way to give us that equivalent performance, i dont mind thicker panels as long as better HDR can be achieved.
