Hello,

My first time posting here. I'm not really up to par when it comes to stereo stuff but trying to learn.

Just got a new 50 inch plasma tv and want to upgrade my surround sound system. The only thing I am keeping from my old system is my B&W 580 speakers for the front. I'm looking for new center channel and rear speakers.

I don't know how to "match" my front B&W speakers to a center channel speaker? I have been looking at Polk Audio, B&W & Paradigm. I don't want to spend more then $200 on a center channel speaker.

Anyone have any suggestions? Even how to "match" up something to my B&W speakers?

Here are the specs from the book on my B&W's

thanks

won't let me post the specs..........copy and past below but add the h ttp:// to the front of the line...........sorry

I don't think your going to find a center channel to match those speakers. So whatever center channel you purchase, your going to have speakers that sound different from one another as your mains. Not a good thing.

I might suggest you purchase a set of mains, and move the 580's to the rear.

Depending on how you set it up, you may be able to find an used dm 550 and use that as a center channel. Or talk to a B&W dealer, and see what she suggests...
