Building Speaker Stands? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone, I am looking into building some speaker stands and am looking for some advice. I am trying to go by Widescreen Review's rule of thumb and make all my speakers equal height and equal distance from my sweet spot seet. Can anyone lend some advice.

I built some based on this design.

Fun project that only cost me about $80. You could make them cheaper if you use MDF instead of hardwood.

Check out the HT page from the link in my sig to see my more traditional MDF stands. Not as cool as the Iron beams, but they were easy to build (relatively) and I like the way they came out.

(there is actually a channel cut out down one of the vertical supports to run the speaker wire through, but the wire I'm using was a little too thick. Works well on the surrounds though).
