I know that the DAD format is a bit passe by today's standards (), but I am interested in picking up some of them. Where can the best prices be found? I am listening to the John Coltrane Blue Train DAD as I type, and I am totally immersed in the sound of this disc. I don't really want to pay $25 for them. I admit that I am spoiled by the fact that I got the Blue Train disc sealed on eBay for $11.50. I don't expect to find DADs that cheap through dealers, but can I get them for less than $25? Thanks in advance.
Along the lines of DADs, I read some opinions on Steve Hoffman's forum saying that the DAD of Muddy Waters Folk Singer sounds better than the SACD. Some folks refuted that opinion. Does anyone here have thoughts? I don't own any version of Folk Singer (not even on CD), and I want to get the best high-resolution version out there. So, should I get the DAD or the SACD?
