How or for that matter can u put black bars on existing video from a DV camcorder? I'm trying to get some of my son's birthday video into a LOTR:FOTR trailer. The said trailer has them black bars so it'd look more seamless if my footage had them too....

Well you could do it real easy in after effects- but if rpemiere doesn't have a plugin for this, another route would be to:

Create a layer with a jpg of black bars with a white area in the middle. It might take a little work to get them identical- but after a couple tries you should be fine.

Use the chroma key function to make the white area clear to the layer below.

Put the B-day footage in the layer below.
