i got a live show cd from a friend and there is a four second gap between each song. how do i get rid of this in an easy fashion?

Rip the tracks and then reburn the CD but with no gaps.

Is the silence actually part of the tracks or just inbetween?

If it's in the tracks you'll need an app capable of editing wav files.

Try Goldwave to edit out the silence at the end of each track.

Even if you do that, you'll be able to tell when one track ends and another begins because the audience noise will "jump".
