I know hockey isn't very popular on this board, but this is an incredible story. In last night's Carolina Hurricanes versus Toronto Maple Leafs game in Toronto, both Canes goalies were injured during the game. Since Carolina was the road team, they had to resort to dressing Toronto's emergency goalie -- 42 year old David Ayres, a former junior B goalie and current Zamboni driver, who had not played in 5 years. The score was 3-1 Carolina in the 2nd period at the time Ayres went into the game. Ayres let in two quick goals. One of the Canes players came over to him and said "just have fun out here. We don't care if you let in 10 goals". That seemed to calm him down, and Carolina went on to win the game 6-3. Ayres was named first star of the game -- a dream come true for anyone who played sports in their youth.
