Hello. I own a Marantz SR7007 home theatre receiver and last night when I turned it on to watch a movie, it gave me a notification of a firmware upgrade, which I downloaded and installed, without knowing what the upgrade was. I thought it was a little unusual that I would receive a firmware...
Need to upgrade a Pioneer VSX-32 to something that can pass 4k.
I am using external amplification so need pre outs for 7 channels. the front mains are bi-amped and I am actually running 5.1 speakers.
Anyway, the Pioneer LX-503 has the preouts as do similarly priced models from Marantz SR5012...

First of all, its good to be back. I've been on HTF since 2004 or so as RickTop but have been out of the AV game for a while. For some reason, the site will not allow me to log on with my old user profile and I created a new account. Getting the bug again! I so appreciate all the help you...
Hello distinguished associates! I'm having a strange issue with my Marantz SR7007 receiver and that is the center channel volume level is suddenly greatly reduced, almost to the point where the dialog is hard to hear and I can't figure out why, other than perhaps that amp channel is going bad...
Ok so wife & I bit the bullet and bought a new receiver - Marantz 5012
before disconnecting our old Marantz I made sure to note down where everything was plugged into - we had HDMI''s and RCA leads plugged in to and from the Sky TV box to the receiver to the TV and same with the Blu ray...
Hi - I'm new here and have a problem with my marantz amp
from about 3 months ago when I turned the amp on it would make a loud crackling / popping sound through the wharfedale speakers for about 39-59 seconds before the crackling stops and normal sound come out - click on link
what I did was...
I have the Marantz AV7702MKii Pre/Pro but I am assuming other Marantz [and Denon] products will be the same. There is a setting under Setup > Inputs called "Source Level." The product manual has this to say regarding the control but I am wondering how [and if] others use it. Cranking it up...
I've been resisting this for weeks now. A new Pre/Pro was just going to cost more than I wanted to dive in for, then Marantz replaced the AV7703 with the AV7704, which seems like it's 97% rebadge/minor update. I've been watching the price of 7703s dropping... and dropping. Now, my Sherbourne...
Hi all, I was having problems with the protection system that kept coming on and I read on the net that if the receiver is not getting enough power the protection system will keep coming on so I plugged it into it's outlet and that fixed it. I thought maybe it was overheating or something. Now I...

Hey all!
I have the Marantz AV8802A and just got the Oppo UDP 205. What should I use to decode the audio and video - the Marantz or the Oppo? I'm relatively new to these things. DAC's? I've heard of people setting the receiver to pass-through, setting the Oppo to bitstream, etc. and it's a bit...
Greetings!
Love my SR-7000 driving B&W 603 S2 (left, right), LCR6 S2 (center), and 602 S2 (rears) and SVS sub (5.1). But I need to replace it; thinking of moving SR-7000 to office for sound-only.
Reason for replacing SR-7000 that is in the family room is to get HDMI switching for easy of...

I'm looking to upgrade my Yamaha Adventage RX1010. While it sounds great for movies, I've never been happy with it for music. In addition, it doesn't allow for independent setup of dual subwoofers and the zone 2 is broken.
For the new receiver, I'm particularly interested in Dolby Atmos and...
I just got this amazing receiver yesterday; I actually ordered the 7010 but the Amazon seller had ran out of that model so they sent me this one with no additional charge, it normally would have been WAY out of my price range!
However after spending all day yesterday setting it up, I can't sit...
Hello,
I am considering either the 7703 or 8802A to replace my aging Yamaha RXA2040. I have read numerous threads on both these units and I am still undecided. Has anyone recently demo'd both of these units and can honestly advise if the 8802A is worth the extra 1K.
this would be used mainly...

I have a budget and am trying to get the best bang for the buck- I tried out an Onkyo RZ800, which I'm planning to return, solid unit, my ears just need something a little smoother and more geared to music- aka Marantz. Had a Rotel 1055 which I was replacing.
With a $6-800 budget-- Do I go new...
