Another question, if your speakers are said to be magnetically shielded (Infinitys), then why would my TV (Hitachi 32udx10s) still suffer from the color fading in the corners? (I had a purity kit installed once and now it's hapening in another area of the television).
Does anyone have experience with either the Avia Guide to Home Theater ($49), Sound and Vision Home Theater Tune Up ($20) or the Video Essentials ($25)? I don't know what each of them offer, but if they are all similar I'd prefer to go the cheapest route. $49 isn't in the budget right now.
One other question: Does anyone have experience replacing parts for this speaker? I was going to unscrew the front and see what I'd have to do, but after I unscrewed the front, it was still stuck together with what looked to be a piece of double-sided tape or something. Do you just have to pry...
I bought a 2 meter AR cable from Best Buy for around $20. I don't have the money to go with better cables route right now. They do fit snug though, I had a problem trying to push them in to connect to the TV! I'll see if I can choose interlace mode with those cables. Thanks.
I recently purchased a component cable. After plugging in and setting my DVD player to progressive mode, I am wondering why the picture looked fuzzy. I thought the component cable was supposed to make the picture better? I have a Pioneer 563a, Onkyo 501 receiver (no video cables through the...
Tony Genovese: I did pick up a digital coax cable and I could notice a difference immediatley in the sound.
It looks like the CC3 does have a blown tweeter. Infinity wrote me back and told me that too much power could have caused it, but more often it's that it gets too little power, or...
My first player was a Panasonic DVD A110. It wasn't progressive, and it was an older model, but I often had problems with pixelization and DVDs stopping. My new player I just got is a Pioneer 563a. Progressive, yes. Problems so far, no.
RichardH: I played a DVD, and placed my hand over one speaker on the CC3, but it sounded the same. I then covered the other speaker and the sound was the same coming from that one too. So when I covered the speaker I DID NOT hear any difference.
This means the tweeter was probably blown...
I used the test tones when first setting up the receiver, but I wouldn't really know how to set it up. All I noticed was that sound was coming from each speaker.
Where do I get an SPL meter, for how much? How is it used?
Thanks
I guess the tweeter sounds fine. I put my hand over the front and there wasn't any difference. If I turn the sound up a bit, or the center channel level up it doesn't sound too bad. It's basically when I want to listen at a lower volume and not shake the walls down when I can't hear dialogue...
Robb Roy,
I will double check that, the wiring. It is possible although I thought I checked the phase on everything before plugging in.. I do have the stand and it is sitting on that, pointing slightly down towards ear level. I will let you know if I find anything with that. Thanks!
A few years ago I bought the Infinity CC3, a pair of RS5's, and a pair of QPS1's as surround speakers. For some reason my CC3 sounds dull. I tried adjusting the brightness levels to the highest levels, and it seemed to help a little, but it just doesn't seem like dialogue comes through clear...
I bought a Hitachi 32 UDX a little over a year ago, and I have been having problems with the color fading in the lower left corner. It bothers me every time I watch TV, my eyes just focus on it. I have had some service men come out (since I bought the Circuit City warranty) and one guy had me...
Well I ended up paying more than $200, but I bought the Onkyo 501 receiver in silver, and the Pioneer 563a together today from Crutchfield. With 10% off the order and $20 off the order the Onkyo 501 came to $260, and the Pioneer 563a came to $143. So for $403, hopefully I'll be pleased...
Ernest, I had to stick to an inexpensive piece, and from what I've read it seems to be the best for the price (sub-$200). Someone linked to a review of it, and after reading it I decided I should just go with it. I hope pairing it with the Onkyo 501 receiver (also got it in silver) will...
I actually went ahead and ordered an Onkyo 501 receiver and a Pioneer 563a today. I wanted to keep it inexpensive, so that's what I did. I really wanted an Onkyo 601 and a Denon 1200, but didn't think I could afford it right now. I'm sure a few years down the road, hopefully I'll have a house...
I was looking to get a Kenwood 6050 from Crutchfield but they're sold out. If anyone visits their site, what do you recommend as DVD players from them? I plan to buy a receiver too, so I'd get 10% off the entire order. And I think another bonus for being a first time buyer. I want to stay...
JeffPhill, I just went to 6ave and it says the 1804 is $499. How did you get it for $350? I'm looking to add a Receiver/DVD combination. Would any of you recommend Kenwood 7070 (THX select) with 6050 DVD Denon 1804/1604 with 1200/910 DVD Pioneer 912 with 563 DVD or Onkyo TXSR501 with...
After doing a little more research on a DVD player and receiver, I've kind of narrowed my choices. Denon 910 with Denon 1604 or 1804 receiver Kenwood 6050 with Kenwood 7070 receiver Pioneer 563 with Pioneer 912 receiver Onkyo SP501 with Onkyo 501 or 601 receiver When I spoke with a...
Hello. It is time to update my system from my Sony STR DE 425 that I purchased about 5 years ago (along with my Panasonic DVD A110). I think I'm going to go for a budget DVD player in the sub-$200 category, but where should I look for a nice receiver? I've read some good things about the...
I've been trying to do DVD Player research for a while, and I just want to know what everyone recommends as their favorite DVD Player, under $300 (the cheaper the DVD player, the better receiver I'll get). I've been looking at the Pioneer 563a, and possible the V Inc. Bravo D1 (did I get that...
