Buyer Beware: WA Release Of THE DELPHI BUREAU Edited? (1 Viewer)

According to reviews on the WA store site, the WA release of the 1972 TV movie THE DELPHI BUREAU is "severely edited." It is supposedly missing 17 minutes of original footage as well as the freeze frames with limerick lines that were bumped into the commercial breaks. Apparently they released a syndicated version that was supposed to fill a 90 minute time slot rather than the original broadcast version which was in a 2 hour slot. Can anyone confirm this?

Glenn, do you mean confirm the original run time?IMDB lists Delphi Bureau pilot as 78 minutes, but Halliwell's Film Guide from 1976 says it is 99 min.The pilots for the other two shows that joined Delphi Bureau in THE MEN series time slot: Universal's "Jigsaw" and MGM's "Assignment Munich" (retitled for the series as "Assignment Vienna") are both listed in Halliwell's as being 98 minutes.

WA finally addressed the issue today. They say the the version they released is indeed cut from its original running time and that they are going to make an effort to let people know. They claim they could not find suitable material for the uncut version. So after they promoted this and sold it, being aware that it was the edited version all along, they are going to take a more proactive stance on it? Gee, think they were trying to cash in as much as possible before anyone noticed?Not a very ethical move from them.
