Hello,

I am in the market for a new tv and i have noticed that the 4K 120Hz 3D tv and the1080p 240Hz 3D tv's are approximately the same price.

My question in which would be as better investment. Keeping in mind that the tvs main uses would be for gaming and movies,The brand i am looking at is LG and my budget is $1500.

Thank you.

1. Don't touch a 4K TV that doesn't support 4K/60hz.2. I'd wait till September when more new product arrives...if you buy 4K.Essentially a 4K TV on HDMI 1.4 is pointless.

4K on HDMI 1.4 is useless.

Do I need to repeat it again?

IF you noticed. EVERYWHERE you see these new(cheap) 4K displays...

"*4K/UHD content delivery standards still being developed."

None...as in NONE...of those "deliver standards" are going to be HDMI 1.4.

No consumer electronic purchase (with the lone possible exception being speakers) should be considered an "investment".Even worse, would be the purchase of any "bleeding edge" technology. There is a hefty price to be paid for being an early adopter.

It's a shame they chose a minimum of 8 bit depth, much better if they had went for higher to eliminate colour banding.

Rec 709? Seriously?
It's going to take a few years before these televisions and projectors can do Rec 2020 with 10 bit depth minimum, at the moment they are once again dumbing down the specs required to meet the Ultra HD labelling requirement, not good for the consumer.
