Why can't I access Hotmail? (1 Viewer)

This has been going on for some time now. I can't access Hotmail from home or from work. When I try to access my inbox, I get a "page can't be found" message. Yet, when I accessed the account from the Denver Public library, I was able to get in with no problems. Why??

Perhaps the security settings in your browser need to be changed to less restictive settings.

Assuming its not a question of security issues or an unitended blocking by a firewall, consider the following.
If at some point you've installed and for that matter uninstalled any sort of accelerator software, the program may have messed with the Hosts file. Do a search on your pc for the word hosts. no extension, just the word. it can be opened in notepad for editing, but for the moment, simply rename it to something like hosts.old now that you've done that, restart your browser and see if you can access hotmail.

I appreciate the help, guys, but nothing seems to work. I tried resetting the security settings. Still no go. I also tried closing ZoneAlarm. Still nothing. Sigh...

I recently had similar problems and discovered it was because I removed Messenger from XP. Once I reinstalled it, Hotmail was fine.
