BrianB I think you need to read his post again and fully quote him. I think he knows that the PS2 version is cut, He said and I quote,

I guess that means that since there are two versions in Europe, it is censored there, but not in the U.S.

Meaning they (Europe) have both versions available so it is censored there in Europe. Someone said in this thread that the US PS2 version is not censored because there is not an uncut PS2 version to censor from. He was being sarcastic.

Question: Which version of the game is as the developers intended, XBOX/GC or PS2?

Answer: XBOX/GC


Question: The PS2 version has content removed compared to the XBOX/GC version. This is a basic fact. So, was this content removed by the developers of their own free will, or were they told to remove it?

Answer: They were told to remove it by Sony.


Question: Is this censorship?

Answer: Given the facts above, you bet.
