I am doing my first HT setup project.
I have a onkyo TXR600 receiver.
energy take 5.2 speaker and subwoofer package(will get this in a week's time)
sony DVD player(with progressive scan)
sony 32'' FD trinitron wega tv
Panasonic VCR(new model)
dish network satellite receiver
all of these are recently purchased equipments.
I have a wall unit in which i will keep all of these.as far as speakers go, my home is prewired for 2 front and 2 rear speakers and so i dont need to do any wiring.
please advise
thanks

To get going you will probably need the following:

-Subwoofer cable: coaxial w/RCA connectors
-Component video cable to connect the DVD player to the TV
-Fiber optic audio interconnect from DVD to Receiver and/or
coaxial audio from DVD to Receiver
-4 coaxial audio interconnects with RCA plugs for VCR to Receiver and Satellite receiver to Sony Receiver
-2 coaxial video interconnects for Satellite receiver to TV

There's lots to choose from out there. BTW, how are you going to connect your center channel speaker?
Have fun!

Thanks wayne & Tim
"Speaker wires the correct length for the five main speakers."
I will not need speaker wires except for center speaker as home is prewired on ceiling for 2 front and 2 rear speakers.
what kind of wire i need to buy for center speakers?please see starting post for details of HT components.
" If the sub is powered, a signal cable with RCAs on both ends. "
Subwoofer cable: coaxial w/RCA connectors , should be fine i think
-Component video cable to connect the DVD player to the TV
-Fiber optic audio interconnect from DVD to Receiver
-S-video cable for panasonic new vcr (SVHS)
now Tim,
why would i need
"4 coaxial audio interconnects with RCA plugs for VCR to Receiver and Satellite receiver to Sony Receiver
-2 coaxial video interconnects for Satellite receiver to TV
"
i am confused.
