Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!

* LOTS of notes about this weeks releases, so pay attention:
* Best Buy's weekly ad shows TNG S2 at $99.99, but their web site today (Sunday) shows TNG S2 at $89.99, as a pre-order. I'd happily save the $10 and pre-order now, but BB.COM's pre-orders aren't eligible for in-store pickup, and I'm an instant gratification kind of person! So I'll get mine locally on Tuesday come heck or high water, but on Tues. morning when it's no longer a pre-order, if BB.COM still shows the $89.99 price then I'll buy it via the web and mark it for instore pickup. I'll still pay taxes, but I'll save $10 and still get this free bonus PC CD-ROM disc (only at BB [and possibly at Suncoast for $137.99]):
STREK_compcd2.jpg
...which used to be sold separately for $20-ish as this:
C_0671317806.jpg

* Note that To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday is non-OAR and should not be purchased! Bad Columbia! BAD! NO OAR = NO SALE!
* Note that Ocean's 11 is available in separate OAR and Non-OAR versions. Look for the red WIDESCREEN EDITION banner across the top:
B000062XHI.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Stay AWAY from the blue banner! Costco and Sam's Club are likely to have the bad version; watch out. NO OAR = NO SALE!!
* The 2-Pack with Support Your Local Gunfighter/Support Your Local Sherriff is available both in "back to back" and "side by side" variations (it has to do with how they shrinkwrap the two boxes together). Best Buy shows $14.99 for the BtB version, which they're more likely to carry, but I listed the higher price just in case. Check before you decide! Oh, and just because this item isn't at Costco or Sam's websites, don't think it won't be there. This is just the sort of thing they love to carry. I'll check in-store at those clubs before committing to anywhere else; they'll probably have the best prices on this one!
* The Disney Store is carrying all the new Disney titles (Pooh and the 4 Vault Disney discs: OY, PT ('61), Pollyanna, & SFR) for $19.99; unlike previous promotions where they gave away lithographs and so forth, there are no deals on these (not even Pooh!). Expect the next Disney Store deal for Monsters Inc., starting as a pre-order in June or July.
* Best Buy is giving away some sort of DVD Sampler Disc when you pre-order Jimmy Neutron, according to their weekly ad. No details at the website, though. Anyone got any info on this item? Like what's on it?
* There's a bunch of stuff I could have included in the roundup but left off, like Waking Life, The Last Waltz, and Bear In The Big Blue House releases. I plead fatigue! But everyone can list prices they discover for these items here.
* Target has Ocean's 11 for $16.99, and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for "Low Price", but gives away a free 48-count pack of Crayola crayons with Pooh (shrinkwrapped to the package). Beware of Non-OAR copies of O11 (red top banner is OAR).
* K-Mart has both Ocean's 11 and Pooh for $19.95 each; no freebie items this time. Wal-Mart's new circular shows those two titles on DVD for the same price. Beware of Non-OAR copies of O11 (red top banner is OAR).

Outpost has ST: TNG Season 2 for $79.99. I'll let anyone make of that what they will.

Thanks Dave, always a pleasure to read this post on Sundays.

Remember that Deep Discount DVD will pricematch with Outpost.Com. I did this and got Friends Season 1 for $39.96 shipped (DDD price was $53). While Outpost's site continues to say that Friends is on back order, I received my set from DDD yesterday!
Currently, DDD has Star Trek Season 2 for $98.39. Would be worth the effort to work the pricematch angle... :)

Just a note for Suncoast Replay members. On S1 of TNG they had it for the same price as Best Buy ($99) with the CD-ROM, but you also get points (more than enough for a $5 GC). S2 will probably be the same deal.

BrianE, I'm not certain about Suncoast having that deal again, because last time Suncoast's website SHOWED the $99.99 deal; this time it does not! But someone should check it out in-store and let us know. Sometimes it is definately deceptive about web prices vs. in-store prices!
Fogive me for being uninformed but what is OAR?
Nothing to apologize for! It stands for Original Aspect Ratio, as someone already explained. It doesn't mean we want everything in widescreen. It doesn't mean we want everything in fullscreen. It just means that we want to see everything the way it was originally shown in the theater, that's all!
"Gone With The Wind" and "Wizard Of Oz" were originally shown in theaters in an approximate square shape, just like the original shape of TV's (or close enough). So when we see these on television, nothing is taken away...we see it like the aspect ratio that was originally shown in theaters.
The "Star Wars" films (all of them in the series) were originally shown in theaters in Widescreen, though. So when it's shown on television or home video in a square shape (like the Fox broadcasts for the last couple of Thursday nights, and next Thu night as well), they are cutting off some information on the sides. You don't see the whole picture!
This is also true of the Indy Jones movies...see the picture in Brian E's signature right above.
So the proper way at home to see movies shown in cinemas in widescreen is going to be in widescreen. If you don't have a widescreen TV, then they have the "black bars" above and below where the TV sceen isn't being used at the moment (there's nothing to see there).
Here is a link to the best demonstration of this: {click here}
Also click on the WHYWIDESCREEN box in my signature, and the Anamorphic box in my signature, for lots more info on this subject!
And...thank you for asking! :)

Dave, since all those titles are being marked down, does that mean SE's are coming for them???
:D
I came across this at Hammer Films tonight, it's too bad it didn't make the date... "To the Devil... A Daughter".
Good news though, Hound Of The Baskervilles looks to be arriving tomorrow. Best Buy should have it for $9.99.

You sure about that Mike? I just went and checked this morning (Monday). Went to BB.COM, clicked on the Movies section, saw TNG S2 at the bottom left with the strikethrough on the $99.99; clicked to add it to my cart and it showed up there as $89.99 still.
I figured it might be the collector set deal, too...but perhaps not. :)
Crossing my fingers for tomorrow...
PS - they now have info for the Jimmy Neutron sampler:
Jimmy_Sampler.gif

Pre-order Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius on DVD (due to hit stores July 2) and get an exclusive 87-minute DVD sampler! This awesome bonus disc contains 5 full-length episodes from Nickelodeon's hottest kids' shows, including Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants, Rocket Power, Blue's Clues and Dora the Explorer, so place your order today — supplies are limited.
Features included on the Jimmy Neutron DVD:
The making of Jimmy Neutron
2 music videos
7 DVD-ROM games
2 movie trailers (see our movie clip)
I'm not too worried about it, but it might be cool. Since I was leaning toward getting the film anyway, maybe I'll do the pre-order to get the disc. Maybe. Mmmm...nah.

David my bad, I just couldn't see that thin black line last night, lets do hope it stays that way.
Although a few days ago BB actually showed the $89.99 price under the crossed out $99 price ?
