I tried to get a question in... but Ron kept kicking me out...
It's not a nickname folks, I don't want to have to scan my friggin photo ID.
What did he say about "I Married a Witch"?

Pretty cool stuff. Let's see...just for starters I'll take:

That's Entertainment! Trilogy
Gangster films collection
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers: SE
Buster Keaton silent films
The Spirit of St. Louis
Mighty Joe Young (1949)
Bubsy Berkely box set
It's Always Fair Weather

Still some great movies missing from the list, but no real complaints here. I guess it's just not possible for them to release everything that we want. I'm happy.

I believe there's only one version available. The Australian disc and the R1 are the exact same discs: both are NTSC and R1/R4 dual encoded.

It has not been released in Europe yet, so maybe an upcoming PAL release will be in widescreen.....

i believe they said they were considering it.
i'd be willing to bet that it will see a release if/when the remake of Bewitched goes thru and gets released.
that was the inspiration for it after all and that would be the most logical tie-in.
Veronica Lake is sadly under-represented on dvd at the moment

All I know is that their comments about Caged and Wonder Woman I was suprised at. I figured that they were long shot questions, but I can't tell you how happy I was to here their news!!!!!

So I guess we can expect a 5-disc Film Noir box set containing all of the following films:

- The Asphalt Jungle (1950)
- Gun Crazy a.k.a. Deadly Is the Female (1949)
- Murder, My Sweet (1944)
- Out of the Past (1947)
- The Set-Up (1949)

I need to know more about the Warner Gangster Collection & new Hitchcock Set! Any idea what titles will be featured in either?

Folks, we just posted the complete transcript of
last evening's chat.

Our thanks to Brandon Conway for that terrific
compilation of announcements and discussion. We
have included that list at the end of the chat
transcript and we anticipate THEDIGITALBITS.COM
will post that compilation as part of their coverage.

If I had to guess it would be the following titles for the Hitchcock set.
  • Mr.& Mrs. Smith
  • Suspicion
  • Stage Fright
  • I Confess
  • Dial M For Murder
  • The Wrong Man
  • Foreign Corrspondent

Just read through the transcript; I said yesterday that it would be The Chat of The Year - I wasn't wrong. Wow!

Well done all, and thanks Warners for the advance warning that I may have to sell one or more of my children!

After some thought, I think the Gangster films will feature films that had two of the following actors in the cast.
  • Cagney
  • Bogart
  • Robinson
  • Raft
So my guess would be some of the following films:
  • Each Dawn I Die
  • The Roaring Twenties
  • Bullets or Ballots
  • Invisible Stripes
  • Brother Orchid
  • Kid Galahad
  • Angels with Dirty Faces
  • The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse

I just read the chat transcript and Warner has really warmed up to HTFers over the past few years. I love their product, and the people last night seemed genuinely thrilled to spill the beans on everything, if they could. Kudos to warner!!!!!!

For some reason, I think Public Enemy and White Heat will be saved for the Cagney dvd set, but you never know since Warner has so many films to choose from.

You're probably right; I'll take 'em whichever way they come.

The only negative about the Warners chat is that I subsequently get more than a little steamed about how little some other companies are doing, or how little they seem to care, about their precious back catalogue.
