It appears Disney wants feedback on titles that they do not have on VHS or DVD yet, and Song of the South is one of them. Let them know that you do want it, by going here and then clicking on the e-mail link to the left and under the "This Title is not currently for sale..."

I urge any of you who want to see this endearing title come to DVD as it should to click on the link and let Disney know how important this title is, and that it should be released just as they release all their other titles. There's even a section for comments on the e-mail page. So let Disney know!

Well, being a relatively new member to the forum, I didn't see this topic in any of the past few days so I felt posting about it would be safe.
Thank you guys for making me feel really welcome here at the HTF. :rolleyes

Don't take it personally Walt - several duplicate posts get jumped on, and It doesn't mean that no one's paying attention, we've just been discussing it already. By the way that thread is here...
You'll find using the search function helps a lot, because it goes back further than most of us care to on a page by page basis.
P.S. welcome to the forum ;)

If this helps at all....would you have felt better if I had just said "deja-vu"? If so, rest assured the "freakin" part wasn't meant to push the meaning on you any harder, it's just I always say that. But, what I've said is said, and I won't censor it :)

It happens all the time on this forum, you bring out a subject that was already talked about and the smart mob comes to the rescue, I guess it makes them feel smater.

Walt, thanks you for the info, I was not aware that Disney was requesting this information.

Walt and Luis -
There are actually a number of ways to communicate to Disney regarding your love for this film! For your benefit, I've reposted the appropriate links on this thread:
Vote for "Song of the South" as your, ...
Favorite movie of the 1930s and 1940s:
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/mo...s/30s_40s.html
Favorite animated movie:
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/mo.../animated.html
Favorite musical:
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/mo.../musicals.html
Just click on either of the links above to vote and select "Song of the South" from the drop-down menu on the RIGHT-HAND SIDE of the screen. By letting Disney know that this movie is your favorite, it may help to bring it ultimately to DVD.
Favorite classic animated character:

(select "Brer Rabbit")
Nominate "Song of the South" for the 2002 National Film Registry:

Provide feedback to Disney and request "Song of the South" on DVD (use the "click here" link on the left-hand side of the Disney page):

This is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. By letting Disney know how we feel, we can send a consistent and clear message that will help to get this classic on DVD!

Here's an update, ...
Favorite movie of the 1930s and 1940s: #1
Favorite animated movie: #1
Favorite musical: #1
Favorite classic animated character: Brer Rabbit slid from #2 (right behind Mickey) to #9. {Get out there and vote, ... our little furry buddy needs some help!}
Keep those votes comin'!!! :emoji_thumbsup:
Also, the 2002 National Film Registry nominations and the E-mail requests for the film on DVD are just as important as a strong showing in their poll. Please continue to send a message to studios (and self-righteous critics like Roger Ebert) that attempt to obliterate film history.
Together, we can bring Song of the South to DVD!!!
:D
