Glad to hear that there are other's as lucky as I am.
My fiance has only two rules on my audio/HT (she also enjoys the system!...just doesn't under stand the techno-jargen.....yet!;))
1) Make sure "you" can still pay the bills.
2) They must be finished.
rule #2 eliminates all of Pat's naked speakers.
I even asked her about getting a line array going, and she added an additional rule.
3) We just need to get a room that is large enough for them
rule 3 is ok, cause I am in an apartment right now, but when I buy a house, then I am good to go :D

Well Brian,
Unfortunatly some of us are "stuck" with side laying
M-T-M's though.. I can stand my AR4C on end and it is
the same "exact" speaker as the Mid/High section of my
AR9's but the problem in doing that is that the Center
Channel is now almost 7' in the air sitting atop my TV..
And I don't like the Center Channel on the floor in front
of the TV.. If I had a projector this wouldn't be an issue.
:)

Brett,

I understand the problems involved, and that is why if I were to be looking at speakers for a HT setup, I would limit myself to brands/lines which carry a true, dedicated center with the midwoofer and tweeter in a vertical array. Or, I'd use 3 identical monitors for the front soundstage. Of course, we all have different priorities so everyone will not necessarily feel the same as me. But having heard the difference, that is where my priorities lie.

Brian, no prob. BTW I just called my wife (I'm at work) and the AR 2C arrived this afternoon. That's very quick service from Consumer Warehouse considering I ordered it on Sunday night, Fed Ex super saver!
I'm impressed & can't wait to get home and try it out!:D

Has a down firing subwoofer built in?

Isn't that going to cause problems with your TV if you put it on top?

Chris,
The "sub" in the AR2C is a 6.5" Woofer in actuality
which is slot loaded. The Cabinent has a base and above
the base is a rectangular port for the woofer.
I was worried about screen shake and that is what kept me
from buying the AR2C and instead went for the AR4C but in
retrospect due to the slot loading port I doubt it would
have shaken the screen. (I think...) :)

Got the new AR 2C installed on top of a 36" direct view TV, and it sounds pretty good. Listened to a couple of multi-channel SACDs. Movies tomorrow!
Thanks for the advise.
