I need a replacement subwoofer but don't know what equipment would be compatiable. Can anyone help? A Feit

Thank you....could you define self powered? I was told by a Direct TV installer I needed a certain compatiable withTechincs Sub woofer.

Yes.A subwoofer with an onboard amplifier. The way home subwoofers have been made for 25 years.The only time a sub is "not self-powered" is when it needs an external amp.Your 950(have you looked at the back?) has a subwoofer pre out and 5 speaker terminals.Every single subwoofer ever made, and will ever be made, is compatible with that AVR.

If your budget is small, you might look into the BIC line.
