What exactly does the turbo button do on the old computers? I have always wondered that and a computer that I am modding has one. I am thinking about using the turbo button as a switch to turn on the case light. Sorry I'm such a yutz.

Back before programs has speed ramping built in, you could use the turbo button to slow down your computer so that you could use those old programs and games

The problem was that some programs and games didn't work properly with the higher speed, so you HAD to step it down.
