I hope there are a few people out there that have played let alone remember this original Play Station game. I thought that had one of the best stories of any RPG ever.

My question is who developed/created this game? Did they produce others? If so, which ones?

Actually I would like to know not the company who produced it,(they come and go all the time) but the person or persons that wrote the story. I was wondering if they storybooked other games as well.

IMHO, you cannot have a great game unless the story or plot is great as well.

The game was done by Squaresoft, now known as SquareEnix. Creators of the Final Fantasy series, the Chrono series, as well as many others. And now, with the addition of Enix, they also have Dragon Warrior and other Enix properties. Not exactly a "come and go" company.

The creator of Vagrant Story is Yasumiu Matsuno, who also created Final Fantasy Tactics. Incidentally, composer Hitoshi Sakimoto was also one of the two composers on FF Tactics.

The people who worked on this game also worked on others, your best bet is to look at other Square games. Such as Chrono Cross, the Final Fantasy series, Parasite Eve, and others.

Hmm, I never actually finished Vagrant Story (combination of not getting into the combat system and not really having the time to play it when it came out), but FF tactics has a great story as well.

Actually, all I really remember about VS is the crazy weapon/item creation system that I never really got the hang of. I remember thinking that you could (and would probably have to) spend a whole lot of time on it to get really good at it.

Of course, if you're looking for ps1 RPGs, you really can't do much better than Dragon Warrior 7.
