Guys, might not have the correct forum here, but do you ever think the studios might go back to tracking down unreleased releases such as the Brothers Grimm, which came out on Blu Ray this year? There are films that never came out on VHS, Beta, laserdisc, DVD, Blu Ray or 4K. Kino Lorber has done an excellent job on some, but it would be great, if there could be a greater focus on unreleased films. Or do you think the pandemic forever shot that in the foot?

Happens all the time here in the UK. Most of Second Run’s material is Blu-rays of films that have never had any release before, at least in Britain.

Other boutique labels such as the BFI, Arrow, Indicator etc do the same.

I agree that the pandemic was never the issue

The collectors market continues to dwindle.

I believe the future of such releases relies on the survival of boutique labels.
