Ultimate TV upgrade (1 Viewer)

I have read that it is possible to increase the recording capabilities of PVRs. I have found web sites that explain how to do this for Tivo, but not for UltimateTV. Does anyone know how to do this or where I can find this info? Thanks.

By the way, it is TCM's fault that I want to do this. Too many good movies...

I think, though, that my receiver is Sony, but I'm not sure. If so, I hope the two are similar enough.
