TVs and upscaling quality (1 Viewer)

Which TV brands have the best upscaling ? Sony ? Samsung ?

We still watch DVDs occasionally, Netflix HD streaming, and 720 and 1080 material from our antenna.

This is a late response- Most Tvs do a decent job of upscaling. I've owned only one that does not do a good job and that's Vizio. Samsung and Sony are among the best when it comes to upscaling.

Just to add, it's quite likely at this point that your DVD player is doing the upscaling for your television when playing back discs.

I imagine you'd have to go back quite a few years now to find a HDMI equipped DVD player that was simply 480p.

I set my BluRay players to output in 720p and 576p for watching WS2.35:1 and WS1.85:1 in 4:3 letterbox for the latter to achive same movie picture height as WS2.35:1 in 16x9 4k screen.
My PANASONIC entry lvl 4k TV does the job very well in upscaling.

For the USA brands/models, Sony has the best up-conversion and motion resolution.
