"It is said that Halloween is the night when the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The rituals of All Hallows Eve were devised to protect us from their evil mischief, and one small town is about to be taught a terrifying lesson that some traditions are best not forgotten. Nothing is what it seems when a suburban couple learns the dangers of blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight; four women cross paths with a costumed stalker at a local festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick. Costumes and candy, ghouls and goblins, monsters and mayhem... the tricks and treats of Halloween turn deadly as strange creatures of every variety—human and otherwise—try to survive the scariest night of the year."

The new issue of Fangoria (#264, June) did a piece on this and it sounds intriguing. The story is structured along the lines of Pulp Fiction, Crash and Go!, where the individual storylines overlap and intersect. If it's well-done, it could be REALLY good!

"Does it feature music by Fastway?"

I was very suprised to hear that Flogging Mollys Dave King was the same one from Fastway. :)

Fastway actually had a few good band members in their various line-up's.

The film looks interesting, there hasn't been a good Halloween based Halloween film in some time really.

Yeah.......hell the fact that we even know what Trick or Treat is or who Fastway was pretty much nailed that fact down!

Add me to the list that saw Singer and the title and thought "cool, this could be an interesting remake".

Oh well.

And I make zero apologies for loving the Zep wanna be greatness of the Dave King Fastway years. Wouldn't it be cool if Singer slipped in a couple of Fastway tracks. :)

Eric, I agree that IN THEORY this is something that could be really interesting. Of course from paper to screen is a long journey. This is probably the most ambitious project he's tackled just because multi-lines run the risk of derailing momentum and losing the audience's interest.

For those near NYC......

"FANGORIA will host a free screening of the anthology horror flick TRICK ’R TREAT at New York City’s Two Boots Pioneer Theater on Monday, October 13 at 7 p.m., marking the film’s East Coast premiere and a rare opportunity to see this eagerly awaited movie on the big screen. The film’s writer/director, Michael (X-MEN 2) Doughtery, will introduce the film and take part in a Q&A.

The Fango/Pioneer TRICK ’R TREAT screening will be a free show; to obtain tickets, send an e-mail to [email protected]. You must list “TRICK ’R TREAT” as your subject line. Offer is good for you and one guest; plus, tell us your full name and whether you want to be added to the FANGORIA newsletter list so we can tell you about future Fango screenings and events. Names will be checked at the door. Offer is first come, first served, and we will confirm your RSVP. This advance preview is sponsored by Legendary Pictures."
