Not all that unusual by itself-- the majority of Disney's seem to have had some preorders, but often it's only a couple days and are locked down well before release day. Most I remember would very quickly go on Backorder/Not Available to order and then the coin flip about whether they would ship by release day or even 2-6 weeks later.

Not sure since it was mainly from Fox roots if that makes a difference. I can't remember how Call of the Wild was released at Amazon

I doubt it.

The last Fox title I was able to pre-order and receive from Amazon was Ad Astra last December, and honestly I am surprised it even lasted that long.

I know they're different studios, but I've got to wonder, if Disney is now taking preorders for this, can WB be too far behind with Tenet? That's the one I'm really after.

Probably not -- agreed, but things with the Fox/Disney's are still so new it makes you wonder if those will be handled at all differently than mainstream Disneys. I think this will be just the second Fox property released initially under Disney Banners. Spies in Disguise still had the Fox name, Call of the Wild Twenty Century Studios and I don't think I've seen enough to know how Mutants will be handled.

I guess we'll get a chance fairly soon to see how Amazon gets to handle the two Mulan's which are starting to show up on some sites already.

I think we are now 4 years into the Feud. If my memory serves Dec 2016 with the preorders of Pinocchio Signature was when things went crazy.

Yes if you believe some of the preliminary listings, both the original and 2020 will be seeing 4K releases soon

BestBuy Canada put their listings for the 1998 and 2020 4K (reg and Steels) up today with a release date Nov 10 so you'd assume the US listing will start to appear soon. Disney press releases tend to run around 4 weeks so end of this week or early next week you'd think something official.
