I wonder if the Rangers... show will have to be reworked, of if they are already reworking it.

Just the other day, my son asked me why, if there are so many Marvel shows coming one after the other, there aren't Star Wars shows coming one after the other? I told him to be patient. I suspect the wait for Rangers... just got longer.

I think that show is so early on in its evolution that any ideas they have for the Cara Dune character can be transferred to another character that is also a veteran of the galactic civil war. The new character probably won't be a rebel shock trooper from Alderaan but she'll still have some ghosts in her past and have some emotional scars from the war. The problem now is that the show had an existing character to pull people in and now it has to start without that familiarity.

Good question. It is not like her term as the character's actor was lengthy. The James Bond character has been an established character for a lot longer than her Cara Dune. There has never been a problem recasting that character, so I do not see what the issue would be in recasting a character that has only been around for two years and sporadically at that.

Some fans on Twitter are pushing for Lucy Lawless to take over the role. If they were going to recast, she’d be great. Even if they were going with a new character, she’d be great.

I've seen Ronda Rousey suggested for the role too.

One downside to a recast is that anyone picked will be attacked mercilessly by the toxic component of the fandom.
