Crimson Tide

Captain Ramsey being escorted back to his quarters at the start of the mutiny, not only walking slow but saluting the soldiers guarding his quarters AND smoking a cigar, IIRC

another vote for donnie darko, and especially rushmore. its kinda strange that jason schwartzman, who played max fisher, was supposed to play donnie darko as well, but i think jake g did a better job than anyone else could have. anyway, rushmore's scene is made much better by the GREAT Who song playing behind it. thanks to rushmore, i heard that song, bought the soundtrack for that song, and have since became a Who superfan. thanks max!

Fong Sai Yuk II - When Sai Yuk comes with his entourage to enter the competition for the girl's hand in marriage. No one can do the cool swagger like Jet Li.

Another Wes Anderson film, The Royal Tenenbaums also has some good ones. Margot walking out of the bus and the shot with the characters walking out of the cemetary.

Most of my favs have been mentioned already

1) Entering the bar to the sound of "Hurricane" by Bob Dylan in Dazed and Confused

2) Re: Rushmore - would that be Max walking out of the service elevator with the gum and the bee containers?

3) the right stuff

4) reservoir dogs

5) Clockwork Orange

6) and yes, Cates getting out of the pool in Fast Times is not only hot, but amplified by the outstanding style of the scene paired perfectly with a great Cars song

I would have to say Last of the Mohicans when Hawkeye saves Cora in the battle following their surrender to the opposing regime. I love that scene.

Not necessarily a walking scene, but the part in Manhunter when you see William Peterson running in slow motion and then smashing through the window just as In a Gadda Da Vida explodes on the soundtrack is pretty damn cool.

I realize most of these are meant to be slow motion, but I am reminded of a few where the filmmakers did not resort to slow motion, and that the walking/moving is the essence of the movie.

Gary Cooper walking alone in High Noon
Richard Farnsworth riding the lawn mower in The Straight Story
Marlon Brando's final walk in On The Waterfront
Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman walking down the incrediably long stairway in Notorious
Daniel Day Lewis walking away from Pfeiffer's window in The Age of Innocence

How about in The Usual Suspects, the slo-mo walk of "Keyzer Soze" away from the explosion as the tale about him is being told?

Some from my favorite comedys:

The Royal Tenenbaums - The cemetary scene, especially when they close the gate.

Freddy Got Fingered - After Gord throws away his art in the rain.

Old School - When everyones in uniform, and when Will Ferrell sneezes (HILARIOUS!)

Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back - When Jay first meets Justice.

Me, Myself & Irene - When Hank is throwing punches at the baseball players.
