In your size room, you would be sitting very well (more than enough) performance-wise with the 25-31PC+.

Did you have your prior sub corner-loaded and is your seating close to a wall?

The STF-2 should have been fine in that room, you may have had room modes that interfered with it's performance or you simply want more bass than it is capable of. The 25-31 will seriously exceed the STF-2 though.

I bought mine from a fellow forum member 6 months ago for 600$ used (1 year) and it is one awesome sub!!!

The 25-31PC+ is equivalent to 1.8 x the 25-31PCi... goes to show you the power this sub has to generate.

A 25-31PCi would be very comparable to the STF-3.... just to give you a basis for comparison.
